Friday 30th November: a red letter day for Sussex Chalk Circle writers, Jayne Block, Judith Bruce, Stuart Condie, Yvonne Hennessy, Samanthi Munasing and Danielle Sensier, celebrating the launch of our first ever flash fiction publication: STRATA – Slices through the human landscape.
We were joined at the beautiful Ditchling Barn by over 70 guests, including our very talented illustrators, 2018 V&A Illustrator of the Year, John Vernon Lord and young artist, Tashi Reeve.
The atmosphere in the barn was terrific - wine flowed freely, as did the words, with each author reading short excerpts from their stories to entertain the guests.
Our thanks to all who turned out on a cold, dark evening to support us: you came, you listened, you . . . bought books - what more can we ask!
But hold on a minute - where's missing author, Judith Bruce? Don't worry, here she is, being presented by John Vernon Lord with a signed copy of his original artwork, commissioned by Chalk Circle for the front cover of STRATA and inspired by one of Judith's own stories from the collection, entitled The Little Prince.
